Kabob N Karahi - Authentic Pakistani and Indian Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD

Kabob N Karahi is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in Gaithersburg. I recently visited and was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. The lamb chops were exceptionally tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The chicken tikka and malai boti were equally impressive—perfectly grilled and bursting with rich, balanced spices. I also tried their kadhai chicken, which had a deep, aromatic gravy and authentic taste that reminded me of home-cooked meals.

I eat here once a week now and have brought family and friends. Portions are generous, food very fresh and flavorful. Staff were friendly and patient while I was learning the menu, offering guidance and encouraging new dishes. I haven’t had an item I haven’t enjoyed. Keep in mind they’re grilling fresh if you aren’t getting the special so it takes a little time. If you have the time, come in for the karahi experience. Lunch specials daily that typically include rice, chickpeas or lentils, maybe a veggie, and a meat of some kind. I’ve had multiple meals under $20 with tip but you can get extras that add up. Recommend the garlic tandoori bread over the regular but that’s preference. Mango sago is tasty when available. Not as sweet as others I’ve had, which is nice. I’ve had lamb, goat, chicken, beef, and fish. Zero complaints.

No frills but it's family friendly and has good portions. Expect to wait until entire meal is ready before they call out your order is ready. That being said, if you order the 'traditional ' menu, you will be waiting 15-20 minutes for the item as they are made to order. For those with spicy/heat sensitivities, they don't have a yogurt sauce but they do have a tamarind sauce to tone it down a bit. There are items premade that can't have the spice level adjusted. In my opinion the peas and potatoes are said to be mild but they have a kick.

I recently had a wonderful experience at Kabob N Karahi during Ramadan. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. Every item tasted homemade and high quality. What really stood out was the excellent service during such a busy Ramadan time. The staff were very welcoming, patient, and attentive, making sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. Even with the iftar rush, the team handled everything professionally and with great hospitality. It’s a great place to break your fast with family and friends. The combination of tasty food, generous portions, and warm service makes it a place I would happily recommend. Ramadan Mubarak to the whole team, and thank you for the great experience!

This place has raised my expectations to beyond extraordinary!! It has the most perfect level of spice and taste with high quality ingredients, vegetables and meat. The BEST Pakistani food in the entire Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland area, even better than ravi kabob and I thought their karahi were unbeatable. I enjoy trying different kabob locations in Maryland Virginia and DC on this place has by far exceeded all expectations. Absolutely incredible dishes, from fluffy tandoor naan and well balanced matar rice to vegetables, chickpeas, chicken, and beef. I didn't have room to try their lamb but that's definitely on my next trip very soon. If you ever want to know what real butter chicken should taste like go to this place the best butter chicken in the area eat with rice and some green sauce. IT IS HEAVEN! Staff was incredibly nice food was ready within 15-20 mins, prices are just right. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and well lit perfect for any size groups. 100% recommend you try this place. My love goes out to the chefs in the kitchen.

I am a vegetarian and the food was still enjoyable. I had naan with chickpeas and okra and although it was a bit oily, it was super delicious and filling. My friends loved the karahi. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and had well decorated interiors and nice ambience. The staff were also friendly despite being so busy.

Oh my GOODNESS! Yes this place is amazing! Weekend special is what I went in for and it’s great. Price was on point and Carryout was really hot still when I got it back home. Place was packed on a Saturday night, just to show how much this place does it right. 10/10.
